No account is needed. Everything is stored on your iPhone and, if you are signed in to iCloud, synced to your private iCloud so it survives device changes. The app sends nothing to us — only the words you choose to send from More → "Suggest a feature", anonymously — and we have no access to your data.
From version 4.0 the free plan counts jobs: 3 jobs per calendar month, plus one more on us. A job is one piece of work for one client — its estimate, invoice and receipt count once, and drafts and previews never count. PDFs on the free plan carry a small "Made with Handybill" line. Handybill Pro (monthly, yearly with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time Lifetime purchase) gives unlimited jobs and only your brand on your PDFs. From version 4.0, automatic follow-ups, the templates and colors beyond the two free ones, the income report export and recurring invoices are Pro too; each can be tried once free, on one job, and if you used Handybill before 4.0 you keep the templates, the income report export and recurring invoices. (Versions before 4.0 count 3 documents per calendar month.) If you bought the earlier paid version of the app, Pro is already unlocked for you — tap Restore Purchases in More → Handybill Pro if you don't see it.
Ukraine (ФОП), Poland (JDG), Germany (Selbstständige, Kleinunternehmer § 19), the United Kingdom (sole traders, CIS) and Japan have their own modules; everyone else, including the United States and Austria, uses the international module. There is no Austrian module yet: the international module works in euros with German PDFs, but it does not check Austrian invoice requirements (§ 11 UStG). Pick your country once in onboarding — Handybill then offers the right document types, lists the missing details before you send an invoice and numbers documents the way your country expects. In Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, Mexico and the rest of Latin America, invoices are titled as proformas with a "not a tax invoice" note, because the tax invoice there comes from the tax system. Handybill does not send anything to KSeF, MTD or e-invoicing systems and does not create XRechnung or other e-invoice files.
Yes. The PDF language (15 languages) is set in More → PDF document language, independently from your iPhone language. Currency, tax rate, numbering format, template and accent color are also configurable in Settings and per document.
Recurring invoices (Pro): mark an invoice as recurring and the app creates the next copy on your schedule and notifies you to review and send it. If an invoice passes its due date unpaid, you get a local notification so you can send the client a polite reminder. Automatic follow-ups (Pro) add notifications 3 and 7 days after you send an estimate and 1, 7 and 14 days after an unpaid invoice's due date, each with the message to your client ready — you send it yourself. All of these are notifications on your iPhone; Handybill never messages your clients by itself.
