Photo & Video Compressor ("the app") is built around a simple principle: your photos, videos, and data never leave your device.
None. The app does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, usage data, analytics, or identifiers. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers.
All processing — video compression, photo compression, resizing, exact-size compression, trimming, format conversion, and metadata removal — happens entirely on your device. The app never uploads your media anywhere. Photos and videos you select are read through the system picker or the Files app; the app only receives the items you explicitly choose. Compressed copies are created as new files and your originals are left untouched. Saving to your photo library uses an add-only permission.
The optional Free Up Space feature asks for access to your photo library, because it has to look through your videos to find the ones that take the most room. If you allow it, the app reads video details (size, length, resolution, date) and, for the videos you choose, the video files themselves — all on your device. It then adds compressed copies to your library with the same date, location, favorite status and albums. Your originals are deleted only after you confirm iOS's own "Delete" prompt, and they stay in the Recently Deleted album for 30 days, so you can recover them. Nothing about your library is collected or sent anywhere. You can change or revoke photo access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos; everything else in the app works without it.
The photo compressor can remove hidden metadata — GPS location, camera model, lens details, and other EXIF fields — from the compressed copies before you share them. This stripping also happens entirely on your device. The metadata in your original photos is never altered; only the new compressed copies are affected.
The app works fully offline. The only network communication it performs is Apple's own App Store / StoreKit communication when you purchase or restore the optional Pro unlock, or when the app checks whether you originally bought it as a paid download. These transactions are handled entirely by Apple; the app never sees your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through your Apple Account. The app stores only a local record of whether Pro is active and how many free compressions you used today. None of this is transmitted to us.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
