Never. All compression happens on your device, and the app works fully offline. It collects no data at all — see the Privacy Policy.
Yes. When you compress or convert, the app writes new copies and leaves your originals untouched. Two places can remove originals, both only after you confirm iOS's own "Delete" prompt: Free Up Space, which replaces a video with its smaller copy, and the Phone Storage tab, which deletes only the items you select. Deleted items stay in Photos → Recently Deleted for 30 days.
It finds the videos that take the most room in your library, compresses them with HEVC and adds the compressed copies with the same date, location, favorite status and albums. Then it asks you to delete the originals in one step. Deleted originals stay in Photos → Recently Deleted for 30 days — you can recover them there, or empty that album to get the space back right away. Slow-motion, Cinematic, edited and shared videos are never touched.
iOS keeps deleted videos in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Open Photos → Collections → Recently Deleted and choose Delete All to reclaim the space immediately. With iCloud Photos, your iCloud storage goes down too once the originals are removed.
Free: the Phone Storage check, 1 compression per day (photos, videos and Free Up Space combined), 10 clean-up deletions per day, exact-size photos, trimming, conversion to JPEG, HEIC, PNG, MP4 and MOV, and metadata removal. Pro: unlimited compressions, clean-up and Free Up Space, bulk mode, HEVC, and conversion to GIF, PDF and audio. No ads and no watermark on either tier. If you bought the app while it was a paid download, Pro is already yours — tap "Restore Purchases" in Settings if it doesn't show up.
Pro is sold as a one-time Lifetime purchase and, where offered, as a Yearly subscription; the app shows what is available and the price before you buy.
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel it there, or use "Manage Subscription" in the app's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. A Lifetime purchase never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.
The Phone Storage tab compares small previews of photos taken close together, right on your iPhone. It can be wrong, so nothing in that list is selected for you: check each group and delete only what you choose. Nothing is uploaded.
In the Photos tab, pick your photos and switch to "Exact size". Choose 100 KB (or type any limit). Every photo lands just under the limit with as much quality as fits — handy for upload forms, visas and email.
In the Photos tab, keep the "Remove location & metadata" switch on (it's on by default). The compressed copies will contain no GPS coordinates, camera details, or other hidden EXIF data.
If the source was already well compressed (screenshots, downloads, already-optimized media), there's less to save. Try a lower quality level or a smaller resolution.
